SouthLake founded the Junior Eagles sports ministry in 2004 with the purpose of providing Lake Norman's youth with programs that teach players the fundamentals of team sports while incorporating Christian principles. The Junior Eagles leagues are open to all families in the Lake Norman area. Junior Eagles currently administers JEFA (Jr. Eagle Football Association) in the fall, JEMA (Jr. Eagle Mat Association) in the winter, and JEBA (Jr. Eagle Basketball Association) in the spring.
Information is provided for each sport on the tab above.

Junior Eagle Mat Association
The Junior Eagle Mat Association is a wrestling club to introduce boys to the sport of wrestling. We are a Christian organization and our primary goal is to use wrestling as a way to extend the gospel and to help those who have embraced the gospel to become more like Jesus. Our goal is to reach out to parents and boys who are new to the sport of wrestling and teach them the fundamentals of the sport while making in an enjoyable atmosphere.
We will focus on basic athletic skills as they relate specifically to the sport of wrestling and teach some of the basic moves of wrestling. This will also include some basic strength and speed training along with some wrestling among the wrestlers that come to the club if they are close in weight. While we do not run tournaments on campus (we may in the future) we do assist parents in participating in AAU tournaments.
